Dr. Vanessa Velilla

About Dr. Velilla
Dr. Velilla grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and earned both her undergraduate and dental degrees at the University of Michigan. After a general practice residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and a fellowship in special care dentistry at the Rose F. Kennedy Center, she decided to specialize in children, returning to Michigan for her certificate and master's degree in pediatric dentistry.
She is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She has cared for children in Bergen County since 2003, and she teaches and mentors dental residents at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she holds hospital privileges. She also supports parents who need help encouraging their child to brush, floss, and go easy on chewy, sticky candy.
Outside the office, Dr. Velilla loves to travel — most recently to Antarctica, her seventh continent. At home she's usually trying new restaurants around New York City or training for her next race; she has run six marathons.
